10-28-2012 Reformation Sunday- Pastor Mark Rossington

In the Lutheran Church, Reformation Sunday is kind of a big deal because that's the day where Martin Luther nailed the 95 theses on the Castle Church door in Wittenberg, Germany. It was the day where there was a split in the Catholic Chuch and the Protesant Reformation began, and the events after that we're not pretty. That may have happened over 400 years ago in Germany, but what relevence does that have on us today? Does it still mean something for us Christians as a whole? Pastor Mark gives a sermon on the importance of Reformation Sunday, but also includes that it is very much relevent for us as a whole as Christians. There are still "Indulgence" type of products that are sold, and Pastor Mark gives more insight how those products are not needed when God has given everyone His grace. Wanna hear more about what he has to say? That sermon can be found here at you convenience.

10-21-2012 Prayer That Makes A Difference- Pastor Mark Rossington

In our time at Sunday School, we're taught how to prayer, what to pray for, and when we're to pray, and we're taught that as well in church when we're older. When we're outside of church and any sort of church function, we may not pray as often as we should and we become lost as to what to pray for. What do you pray to God for anyways? Sometimes we feel like we're being selfish in our wants and even no ask Him for things because it sounds insignificant to us. There are even times where we feel as if pray won't do anything for us even if we ask Him in prayer. What do we do? Pastor Mark gives a sermon on prayer and how it can make a difference if you go to God for any of your needs. It doesn't have to take a tremendous amount of faith to go to God with prayer, and you really can ask Him for anything. Take a moment and give this sermon a listen, which can be found here, won't you?

10-07-2012 Your Valid ID- Pastor Mark Rossington

If someone were to come up to you and ask for your ID, you would dig around for you driver's license and possibly a birth certificate to prove who you are. It's the standard way of getting around in this day in age, and it's something that we come to expect. When it comes to showing someone ID for who you are as a person, that part becomes a little tricky since we all show who we identify with in various ways. That part becomes very muddled if we have various ways of showing that, like our job, family name, what we own, etc., and sometimes it can get complicated. Is there an easier way of doing this? If so, what is it? In the series finale of J-Verify, Pastor Mark talks about the various ways of which we normally identify ourselves, and what being a Christian really means as a form of ID, so to speak. The series is wrapped up and everything comes to together in this one, so to hear this one, and the other parts in the series, you can go here for your listening pleasure.

09-30-2012 Working With the Hand You've Been Dealt- Pastor Mark Rossington

We as people like to put on facades when we want to hide something from the people we care about. Sometimes we wear them briefly just to get past something that we don't want other people to see, and sometimes the facades stay for longer than we'd care to admit. We sometimes put them on to escape from who we are and create something that's better than who we actually are as a person. Why do we do that though? How do we get away from relying on such things and actually live our own lives? In the third installment in the sermon series "J-Verify", Pastor Mark talks about how to get past using methods that stop anyone from living their life and how to go through life and deal with what God has given you. It may not be easy, but it will be worth it in the long run. Speaking of easy, it's rather to access that little sermon because it's right here.
