11-21-2012 Attitude of Gratitude: Thanksgiving Eve- Pastor Mark Rossington

The other thing about being thankful for what you are giving is giving actual thanks for it. By that, we will go to the person and say, 'thanks' or sometimes we do something for them in a show of thankfulness and gratitude for what they've done. How often we do that is really spotty and depends on the situation that we deem worthy of giving thanks. Is that really what we should be doing though? In the sermon series finale, Pastor Mark uses the story of the Ten Lepers as an illustration on how we should give thanks for everything that people do for us, and especially giving God thanks everything that's He's done for us. That sermon series finale can be found and listened to right here.

11-18-2012 Hitting Curve Balls- Pastor Mark Rossington

Curve balls are something that we are told to prepare for and to expect considering, sadly, that it's a part of life and the world we live in. However, they do have a habit of coming out of nowhere and knocking you down even if you are prepared and ready for them. How do you react when something like financial troubles, job loss, etc., come barreling at you? How do you prevent yourself from becoming bitter and angry? In part two of the short sermon series, Pastor Mark talks about those very questions, and how you can take those curve balls in stride and having a positive attitude at the same time. That very sermon can be found right here for your convenience.

11-11-2012 A Widow's Mite- Pastor Mark Rossington

Around this time of year, it's the time to be thankful and to give to others that either don't have much, or nothing at all. That's the attitude that we're supposed to have every single day, but it's really driven home around the holiday season, and to be thankful for having what we have. So, what kind of attitude are supposed to have when we have much, or few? Pastor Mark begins a new short sermon series called 'An Attitude of Gratitude', and he uses the story of the 'Widow's Mite' as an example of how we can have that kind of attitude when giving to God and others. That first installment in the series can be found right here.

11-04-2012 Angels?- Pastor Mark Rossington

Whether you're a Christian or not, everyone knows about angels. Hollywood has done movies about them, TV shows have had episodes where they're there doing miraculous things or for comic relief, and works of fiction have them in spades. They're used a lot because they're kind of a neutral entity that can be used in areas of fictional stories because there isn't a definitive description on them, so writers can use them however they see fit. Or is there? We've heard so many things about angels that it's really hard to tell what they really are and what they are not. By popular demand from the Epiphany congregation, Pastor Mark talks about angels and what the Bible has to say about them. He separates fact from fiction about what they can do, and clarifies what is known and isn't known about them. This informative little sermon can be found right here.
