06-17-2012 It's Good to be a Man!- Pastor Mark Rossington

This past weekend was Father's Day, and that's the day where we thank and show our appreciation for our fathers and grandfathers for everything that they've done for us. They work hard and try their best to make sure that we have everything that we need, outside of financial needs, and to make sure that we are happy. The past follwing years though, men have been having a hard time being happy themselves with the way that society has been acting and with the way that the job market has been. So, how do you fix that? Sunday's sermon touches upon that and Pastor Mark uses the story of Joshua from the Old Testament as a spring board about how guys can apply that story to their own lives, and there's even some information that women can use as well. Know someone that can use this in their own life? That sermon can be found here.

06-10-2012 What is the Sin Against the Holy Spirit- Pastor Mark Rossington

As Christians we are told to forgive everyone that has done something wrong towards us and give it freely. It even says it in the Lord's Prayer, "as we forgive those who sin against us," and Jesus talked about it frequently when talking to his disciples as well as to the people he met. It's been told again and again that we should forgive, and that God will forgive every sin that has ever been committed, yet there is one passage in the Bible that cites one sin particular that is unforgivable. What is it and have we ever done that? Pastor Mark talks about what that sin in question really is and what it means exactly, and reassures us that we have nothing to fear abut committing such a sin. Curious to know what that sin is and how serious it is? That little gem can be found right here.

06-03-2012 Being Reverent- Pastor Mark Rossington

One word that we hear on a daily basis and are told to show this towards certain people and events is respect, or showing reverence. When we go to a funeral, wedding, or any type of ceremony we show respect towards the person speaking and towards certain things happening like standing or bowing. What about in a church? How much respect are supposed to show towards God and in the church? We all dress nicely in our Sunday best, but is it enough or is that too much? Last Sunday that was Trinity as well as Confirmation Sunday, Pastor Mark talks briefy about what Trinity Sunday is and how there are many ways to show our reverence towards God and it's not just about dressing nicely. Take a moment to give this one a listen and you might be surprised on what he has to say about all this.
