03-21-2012 Gambling and Horoscopes- Pastor Mark Rossington

Gambling has had a huge impact in our society, and it doesn't take anyone a long time to look around and know that. Casinos are known for gambling and there are even help groups for people that are addicted to it, so because of that people have a slightly negative opinion on it. With horoscopes we see them everywhere in newspapers, magazines, and on the internet. It doesn't long to find out what our sign says about our day or even year, and our society views that as silly and harmless fun. We hear how those two things come into question many times when it comes to the Bible, so what does the Bible say about it? Pastor Mark gives a sermon on those two topics and gives some surprising answers about those, and we, once again, come to realize how many freedoms we have as Christians.

03-18-3012 Zacchaeus- Pastor Mark Rossington

Throughout everyday of our lives we make observations about the people we encounter and the things that's happened to us. They may also be conversation pieces with friends and family depending on how funny or not it was. This may lead to us making not only observations but judgements about everything and make ourselves better than the people we meet, and create ourselves a status based on various things. This is something that can be harmful in our lives, but how did this happen? Pastor Mark marches on in his sermon on Guess Who's Coming to Dinner with the story on Jesus going to Zacchaeus' house for dinner. The story reveals a lot of information about how those judgements can be harmful and how we should be basing our self-esteem not by humans, but by God and what he has to say about us. Curious to know more? Well, you're in luck! It's right here.

Revelations about the story may surprise you and how this story applies to our lives. Give this little sermon a listen, won't you?

The Bible does get mentioned by those that judge others for doing those things as a way of condemnation. Pastor Mark takes alcohol, tabacco and tattoos, as well as piercings, and gives us a glimce into what the Bible does say, or doesn't say. 02-29-2012 Acupuncture and Yoga- Pastor Mark Rossington

Acupuncture and Yoga are two things that are associated with Eastern culture and have ties to their respected philosophies and religions. We as a society participate in those activities without much thought about them, and those practices do have some health benefits. Now the big question, is it okay for Christians to do them? Pastor Mark talks about those activities in his Lenten series on what to do when the Bible is silent.
